Client Bill of Rights

As outlined by Ontario Regulation 187/22, your rights as a client include:

  • Respect: Be treated with dignity and respect, free from abuse.
  • Information: Receive clear, accessible information about services.
  • Involvement: Participate in the development and reassessment of your care plan.
  • Nondiscrimination: Receive services free from discrimination.
  • Cultural Safety: Receive services in a culturally safe manner, particularly if you are
    of First Nations, Métis, or Inuk descent.
  • Consent: You have the right to give or refuse consent to services.
  • Concerns: You may raise concerns or suggest changes without fear of reprisal.
  • Coordination: Receive help in coordinating services to meet your needs.

Additional Rights:

  • Be informed about the laws, rules, and policies that affect your care.
  • Understand the procedures for filing complaints.
